It’s a clear indication that there’s a widespread problem with valuing people and their contributions. This is a problem that transcends industries and demographics. It’s a societal issue that needs to be addressed. The lack of recognition and appreciation for hard work is not just a personal issue; it has significant implications for society as a whole. When individuals feel undervalued, they are less likely to be motivated, engaged, and productive. This can lead to decreased productivity, higher turnover rates, and a decline in overall quality of life. Furthermore, a lack of recognition can create a culture of fear and resentment.
We wanted to showcase the essential roles that are often overlooked, and we wanted to inspire people to consider these careers. We did this by asking Coloradans for their input. We reached out to individuals across the state, from diverse backgrounds and experiences, to understand what careers they felt were underappreciated and why. We then used this feedback to create a list of careers that are often overlooked but are essential to the state’s economy and well-being.
